good read
Good book. Lots of movement. Great setting, the desert.
My negative is all the reflective moments, going back to Grandma's and family to much.
Wonderful story and so inspiring. It makes one humble and grateful that many of life's journeys are not that difficult.
The other reviews tell you what the story is about so I will just tell you I have bought this book twice. On purpose. ) When I loan this book to friends I always ask them to return it because I'm sure I'll read it again. Like one of the other reviewers, I also read it slowly so it will last longer.
Book was good.
A unique expression of the human spirit overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges. For anyone who has spent time in the outdoors, this is something on a basic level can be related to. The most interesting part of the novel was how the main character adjusted her priorities to the changing situation.
A story of survival that reads like poetry - I've read it at least a half-dozen times, and recommended it to every reader I know
